Meet Jen
Jen started her career at Wright State University, where she secured funding and created a handicapable STEM learning community empowering students with disabilities to enter and succeed in the STEM field. An emerging business tool called social media was a driver for her marketing and donor relations, and she became convinced it could be used to make big change for nonprofits. She wrote some papers on the topic and talked to boards and at conferences.
She wouldn’t stop talking about the ROI of social media.
This got the attention of The University of Pennsylvania, and Jen was off to the Ivy League where she continued to use social media to secure proven return on investment – this time, marketing student support services to fight a campus-wide suicide pandemic.
At the age of 34, Jen was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. She paused her career to focus on her health battle including 22 rounds of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy.
Her battle with cancer required her to learn lessons of stillness, the futility of ego and the life-saving power of love – all of which she applies daily to the life she fought to live.
She finished her website during her final chemotherapy infusion, and still talks incessantly about the revolutionary power of social media for change and success.
From strategy to one-on-one and team coaching, Jen uses best-in-class digital tools to meet business goals for ambitious clients navigating a changing world.
Jen teaches graduate students at The University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications, a 2021 Dayton Business Journal Forty under 40 Award winner and sits on various nonprofit boards in Dayton and Columbus, Ohio. She aligns with Dolly Parton's brand position and business philosophy and finds the light by making her clients shine.
